Today in class we began class by reviewing the Anticipation Guide for The Great Gatsby, and then we jumped into an activity where students analyzed passages from chapter 1 to identify and analyze evidence of characterization, setting, and narration through close reading. We finished up by discussing our findings to analyze Fitzgerald's purpose as it applies to themes and plot development.
