Today we covered evidence for a literary analysis essay, including context, lead-ins, formatting, and citations. Students were then given a chance to begin drafting their first body paragraphs of their essays. At Home: Please finish your first body paragraph on your PEA worksheet.

Today, students began class with the vocabulary 2 quiz. From there we continued on with The Crucible though Acts 3 and 4. We focused on how hysteria was perpetuated in a system of fear, and how individual motivations contribute to this process. At Home: Please complete vocab 3 vocabulary definitions and sentences.
In Class:
Today we wrapped up the Crucible intro presentations and then began into Act 1 of The Crucible. We discussed Arthur Miller's purpose in his introductory section of the play to help set a tone and vision of the Puritans. At Home: Please study your definitions of the Crucible vocabulary list 1 for our quiz next class period.
